TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT PAIN (TMJ)
We have many people consult us complaining of jaw pain.
This can present as pain around your jaw, ear, and temple, clicking, popping or grinding noises when you move your jaw, a headache around your temples, difficulty opening your mouth fully and/or locking of the jaw when you open your mouth.
Pain maybe worse when you’re chewing or when you feel stressed.
It is recognised that TMJ pain can be complex however, we have had great success by providing manual therapy to help decrease muscle tension around the TMJ.
Muscle tension and imbalances can cause a limitation to jaw movement and can occur due to trauma, excessive use of the muscles, excessive opening and stress.
